1. Excerpts from Workshops...
The working styles have changed drastically in modern times from ancient times. Ancient work style was just to work in stipulated time, so it was mainly time based, but now it is not time based, it has become project oriented. And projects bring responsibility along with pressure. Therefore, for modern people projects became a matter of concern, like other concerns in life. So handling it became stressful, and hence it became a crisis. This seminar emphasizes on handling stress from a project deeply than handling emotional traumas. Emotions of any nature will naturally bring stress and will end up as crisis. The emotions play a pivotal role in project related crisis and emotional traumas. Inability to handle emotions is the root cause for both crises, so the solutions and techniques are mostly the same for both. Every project brings responsibility, at the same time, we can't say every project brings crisis. We have to analyze and differentiate why some projects bring crisis, while others don't bring so. When we get a project then there will be 2 strings attached along with it.
1.Sufficient time is given for doing it
2.Limited time is given for doing it
Let us check how will be the output of the project in these 2 formats. Imagine that you got a project that has to be submitted shortly and imagine that you got the same project to be submitted after a long period. How will be the output? Will you produce the same result in both occasions? It won't yield the same result.
When we are given sufficient time, then most people will do it efficiently,
When we are given only a limited time, then only a very few people can do it efficiently.
It is obvious that the quality of the output gets beating in time bound projects than the other one. There are 4 essential ingredients needed when you do a project. They are -
- Time
- Resources
- Knowledge
- Skills
All these four ingredients are equally important and interconnected to each other when dealing with great projects. When one among them is absent, it is bound to produce marginally low quality output.
2. Excerpts from Workshops....
Let us analyze little more about different types of pressure we are bound to handle in life and work. There can be a bunch of issues to sort out, but the prominent BIG 3'S among them are:
- Time bound projects
- Emergency dealings - Tons and Tons of work that comes to us unexpectedly. For example, if you are working in aviation or railways, then there can be emergency situations where bridges can fall, or accidents of flights or trains etc. All type of casualty dealings will come under emergency dealings.
- Emotional Traumas - When you are going through a rough patch in life, like being affected by serious illness, or loosing your beloved ones, or assets, or money etc. can put you in emotional trauma.
These 3 pressures will put you into a situation, which can affect your life and job. Hence it is called Crisis. What is a crisis? How it is different from stress? What is the KEY difference between a stress and crisis? There are two prominent faces of crisis, which make it different from stress.
Crisis is not a figment but prominent and persistent problem, while stress can be a figment, coming from unknown fears or insecure future etc.
Without solving the crisis you can't move on, so you can't postpone it, or avoid it, and should be dealt with urgency, while a stress can be avoided and postponed, so no need to deal it like a casualty.
These are the major differences, between a stress and crisis. For example, most people have some sort of stress in life, and most of the times it is figment, so you can do anything along with it. You can go for work, go for a party, socialize, watch movies, or games, so there is no need to focus on stress in cent percent. But when you have crisis, you can't avoid it in that way. Your body, brain and heart will become 'stand still' on the crisis till you solve it.
Crisis will test your character. If you can't handle it then you can't win them. Performer is the one who can handle all these 3 pressures. The ways for efficiently handling it has been discussed in length and breadth in the coming segments.
3. There are a few powerful techniques said by our saints of yore which you can learn while you attend our seminars. Here are some additional tips, which are very useful............
- Set priorities, and do first thing first. When you are undergoing a crisis, first thing you have to do is categorize your mind into different thought forms; sadness is one thought form, work is another thought form, your family is another thought form, your leisure is another thought form, your health is another thought form etc... After categorizing, set 'work' or something 'creative' as your first priority in life. After prioritizing, then stick on to it and keep working. Keep yourself unavailable to anything other than work. Human mind can do only one work at one time perfectly. So set your priority - either work or worry? Research persons don't have time for worrying. They are so busy and focused on their works, so work is their first priority. Winston Churchill worked 18 hours in wartime; when asked, “Do you worry about war?”, he said, “I am too busy; I have not time for worry”.
- When doors are closed then open the windows for getting fresh air to breathe. By getting that fresh air to breathe, you can recharge yourself. Don't panic. Most people when get into crisis become panicky. When you panic then you will do mistakes, so by making yourself to panic you are making yourself prone to failures. On the other hand, be relaxed. Think of the maximum gain and the maximum set back it can bring. After that, firstly sort out the maximum setback issue than maximum gain. For that, practice the option “optimism” which is “Believe in yourself”. Believing in yourself means opening the option box unlocked in the heart. Setbacks are not an end, it opens up lot of other options you can look for. A few among them are -- defeats are not defeats but short term losses/your life is not going to end by any misfortunes of any nature/you will come out from any setbacks/you can learn from experience.. etc, etc. This option of optimism will bring positive vibes into which setbacks can't make imprints in mind. When there are lot of options then you wont get pressurized as before. Thus 'option of optimism' is the window for elevating you from stress, even if it is blocked by setbacks.
- Don't be sure of anything- Future is a guess, so how can you be sure that what you are worried now will actually happen in the future? So keep yourself engaged mentally and physically forgetting pressures. Mechanical works won't make you overcome problems, but a constructive work of mind will make you busy. So take every project as a challenge to do.
